Affacciato sul Po, Stienta è un borgo che racconta la propria storia attraverso luoghi di culto, architetture aristocratiche e antiche leggende legate al territorio fluviale. La Chiesa di Santo Stefano Papa e Martire, edificata tra il 1791 e il 1799, è l’attuale cuore religioso del paese, eretta sul sito di tre chiese precedenti. All’interno conserva l’unica testimonianza rimasta degli affreschi del pittore bolognese Antonio Maria Nardi, realizzati nel 1933 e in gran parte distrutti durante la Seconda guerra mondiale.

In località San Genasio sorge l’Oratorio omonimo, un luogo carico di suggestione, legato alla tradizione di un’apparizione miracolosa della Madonna nel 1666. La chiesa, abbandonata in seguito alla rotta del Po nel XII secolo, fu ricostruita e ampliata nel 1670 per ordine dell’Abate di Pomposa su progetto dell’architetto Giovanbattista Barbieri, per accogliere l’afflusso di pellegrini dopo la prodigiosa apparizione divina. I fedeli giungevano per pregare davanti ad un dipinto raffigurante la Madonna, attribuito a Benvenuto Tisi detto il Garofalo. Durante la dominazione francese, il luogo di culto venne saccheggiato di tutti i suoi beni più preziosi ed in seguito venduto all’asta. Il complesso fu acquistato nel 1798 dal marchese Ludovico Fiaschi e riaperto ai fedeli nel 1805. 

A completare il quadro del patrimonio storico-artistico del borgo, Villa Camerini Bertelè offre un esempio di architettura “militare emiliana” dell’Alto Polesine. Costruita nel Settecento, la villa presenta un corpo centrale massiccio affiancato da due torrette laterali che richiamano la forma di un castelletto. Il rigore delle linee è spezzato solo da una finestra decorata con archetti rovesciati, elemento singolare e distintivo. All’interno si trova una cappella gentilizia, mentre un ampio rustico ad arcate laterali completa il complesso, immerso in un vasto parco alberato.
